Do you think a high street mail box business is a good idea.?

with 2 comments

Hi

We plan to provide a high street mailing address in a small shop in our local town, around 70,000 popular, with many surrounding less well known twons and villages.

Mailboxes etc are one of the fastest growing franchises in europe and I believe the world.

The mailboxes would by accessable 24 hours a day, secure, personal and business boxes, and most importantly a office sounding address. i.e. " Ashley House" so say 124 Ashley House, town Name, Kent, D…..

We will offer mail redirection aswell and a very small fee..

The business box idea is to provide a professional sounding address to those who can’t afford a office etc and work from home. Or indeed online businesses that don’t want to use their home address.

We would also provide photocopying/faxing along with access to Web and graphic design services.

We wold start with 100 mailboxes mixed personal and business.

We would love to franchise this ourselves one day.

Any ideas or oppionions would be very mush appreciated.
Sorry just make clear we would not be starting a ‘Mailboxes etc’ franchise, I was just sayin that there must be something in it, as its so popular.

Its our own business offering slightly different services but mainly concentraing on the mail box aspect.

Would the bank lend to me if I started a franchise?

without comments

My work recently announced redundancies. I hope I won’t be affected but if I am I may use the opportunity to open my own business franchise, either dog grooming or pet care. the problem is I wouldn’t have enough cash to buy into one. Would the bank lend to me?

I have an excellent credit rating according to experian but I do have some debt and a student overdraft. However, I was very surprised when I was refused a credit card a few months back (they said they thought I had enough debt), I only wanted it because it was interest free so I was going to move my balance from my original one to help pay it off (have subsequently paid it off) . My debts do not amount to more than 43000 (including student overdraft and a loan for when I got my eyes lasered). I always make the payments on time.

So my question is, do you think my bank would give me a loan to start up a franchise or do you think they ll think I have too much personal debt already? I work full time at present but would probably only do if I was made redundant, I calculated I would only be entitled to around £750 redundancy money if I were.
The problem is I dont have cash, I would only do this if I were made redundant in the next few months and I defo wont have cleared all my debts by then.
I have bought a flat but its mortgaged and ive barely paid any of it off yet as only bought it a year ago.

Any ideas for a small creative business?

with 4 comments

I want to start my own business but can’t decide on a specific product. I love being creative with arts and crafts and it would be great to be able to make a living from this in the future. Any ideas what product would be cheapest to make? Are there any product specific ways of selling on the web, or any organisations around? Thank you :)

UK Recruitment Franchise?

with one comment

Hi we are a company that are offering recruitment/sales/HR consultants the opportunity to work from home running their own business.

I would be interested to know if this is something that people would invest in? We are due to go live in august with 3 consultants on board already. The cost is less than £1000 per month which i believe is reasonable.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated
Please mail if you are interested

How To Find My Career Path?

with 3 comments

I’m seventeen years of age and I still haven’t chosen the career path in which I want to follow. I’m very interested in the world of business and I think that area is something I was born to do. For example, when I was really little, about 9 or 10, I used to buy multipacks of products from supermarkets and then sell them to my brother and sister to make a profit. So it kind of comes naturally to me. I guess I could be an entrepreneur. However, I lack self-confidence and I’m pretty shy around people. I also enjoy graphic and web design. I’m also keen on interior design and architecture. There’s so many options that I would enjoy but at such a young age, I don’t know how to go about following my dream. I do want to start my own business at one stage of my life but I doubt I’ll be able to do that at 18. Any ideas on how I could figure out the right career path? Thank you very much.

How do I get my own web address ?

with 9 comments

I have a business idea that requires a website. I don’t want to go through Freewebs.com or other free website providers. I need my own business address (www.myname.com) for example. Is there a way to do this that is also free ? and if so can someone offer some advice as to building a webpage and then getting it on the net. Thanks to all those who answer !
