Looking for career, college and university advice?

Currently I’m doing my GCSE’s and looking forward to starting college in September. Although I’m stuck in between two situation that I cannot seem to choose one particular over the other one. I’m not predicted any C’s as grades for GCSE’s, most of the subjects I’m predicted a B. For Maths and Statistics I’m predicted an A and for Business (BTEC) I’m predicted A*. I was planning/ thinking of doing these subjects at college: Accounting, Business, Economics, ICT. The problem is that although I think I’m good at Maths I do not enjoy it as a subject. I’m in between choosing Economics for A-Level and not, since it revolves a lot around Maths. Accounting on the other hand I’m not quite sure some people have told me it revolves a lot around Maths but also other people tell me it doesn’t and that it just requires basic Maths and I’m left with mixed views. If anyone knows what the situation is with (Accounting A-Level and how much Maths it is) then information is highly appreciated, because if it involves basic Maths as some people have told me, then I might do a degree in the field. Overall I’m stuck although the subjects I like are Business in general (Management / Administration ..etc) and wanting to eventually get a job in the business field, I am also interested in Web design. I’m considering degrees in Business, ICT, Accounting and other related fields, however I’m not sure if that would be a good idea… and advice on the situation is highly appreciated. Thanks
Problem is if i was to do history, maths or sciences … for history i would need A level history, for maths.. a level maths and for sciences i would’ve needed to take a level at some of the sciences.

Does anyone know what it is like to have a Eismann Franchise, can you earn the suggested 25K+?

with one comment

I am thinking about leaving my current job and going to work for Eismann, they are offering me salaried position of 12K + £2400 guaranteed bonus. After a trial period I will be able to take on a franchise with them which will cost me certain fees etc. They have told me that the average earnings for a franchisee is 25K but an opportunity to earn loads more. Can anyone be more precise, do you know someone that has a Eismann franchise or works for them. maybe you work for them. I have 2 weeks to decide, one last thing I need to know if there are any running costs and how much they work out at.

Life, is it in the mountain?

with 4 comments

Hey everyboby, I hope anyone out there can give me some advice for a life changing. I am 34 yrs old and I have been skateboarding for a least 20 yrs, I am Italian but I had spent many yrs in Brazil and now I spent the last 8 years in England. I been bored for the last 2 years thinking where could I go, far from all this boring busy cities with people running about to nowhere, talking about big brother and all that celeb crap thing. In Jan this year I went to a ski resource in France and I tried some snowboard, it was my first time and I felt like that was the place to be. Well… I had checked a lot of different web site from the winter jobs agencies to snowboard courses and still some questions.
Because I don’t want stay just for a season that makes things a be more hard…well pay for a snowboard instructor course is out of my possibilities. The way would be get a job there for a shit money some thing around 200 pounds a month working 6 day out 7, which I dont mind if I can stay around the year, I dont want to do it just for a season, my idea is to stay there for good , working, snowboarding far from this messy place.
Here is my question… does anyone know how to get anywhere in the Alps and stay around the year working and having fun?, If you have got a business there and need a assistant for this winter I can help for any kind of job.
Thanks all

I want to start my own business but need advice on a number of issues such as pricing, who can I contact?

with one comment

I want to provide a service to do any job that certain members of the community would have difficulty with i.e. helping oaps with their shopping, or simply getting out of the house, dog walking, preparing meals etc(not just services for pensioners though.) I need to talk to someone who can I can discuss potential problems with, not just the financial side but health and safety issues, advertising etc. I have no idea who provides such a service though so would be grateful to anyone who could point me in the right direction

should i join a start up business?

with one comment

I have a high paid job that I have become unhappy in. I have been approached by some people who are talented with a good track record to run a start up. My salary will be the same and I’ll get some stock. What should I do? How risky are start ups? What’s the downside?

I am living in a country different from where I was born, and for a long time it was hard to find a job and so.. So my idea is to have an internet based business, where I can help people in the same community as my self(foriegner living abroard), as well as anybody creative or with talent, to help them get forward, or maybe they just need extra cash.. i dunno, I would just like to give them an option.
