William Peterson, say it ain’t so…?
Did you hear that William Peterson will be leaving CSI?
How long before the entire franchise, folds like a house of cards?
The great actor William Peterson is leaving CSI for at least a while. Signs of his slow burnout with the series have been a poorly kept secret in the press as well as in the show’s scripts for at least some time.
Despite being involved in the production of the program, as well as one of the main characters of the ultrapopular series, Peterson wanted to spend more time on other acting opportunities such as stage work or cinema. Strangely, “MANHUNTER”, a 1986 film starring Peterson seemed the lay some o the basis for CSI series despite a noticeable relationship to the SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. In many ways, Peterson now seems a bit typecast as a crime fighting private investigator sleth of some sort.

(UK) Legality of collecting donations and advertising revenue from a website.?
(This is a question for people in the UK familiar with Tax and Law)
I am planning to open a website which will generate revenue from :
> Advertising.
> Registration.
> Services.
> Donations.
I’m working full time and pay tax and NI properly, earning over £25,000 a year gross. This website would be a personal money maker and I want to know what tax I will need to pay on the earnings from the website given that the web hosting package itself has a fixed running cost per year of around £400 to £600. I do not have a "business" but would be willing to set one up providinng there were no additional costs and there were clear benefits in doing so.
I’m not familiar with anything like this and want to get a good idea of what is and isn’t legal before I start. The more detail, the more points.
Thanks in advance.

I’m thinking about setting up a t shirt business…Few Questions…?
Right, this idea has been playing on me for a while, i’m a big photoshop user and come up with some great designs, i also have hand drawn images thrown my way to use every so often. My idea is to set up a T shirt printing business but selling my own stock of t shirts and hooded tops (zip up and pullover) and on the side line doing custom orders.
Heat Transfer, Vinyl Printing and Screen Printing…Which one is best, for business?
Also saying buy whole stock i buy a t shirt at £1.00 would selling them for £15.00 each be ok? and buying a hodded top for 3.50 and selling them for £18.00 is that a good price?
I know i will need some capital to buy stock and printing equipment as well as setting up a website. I do have a long term plan which includes a lot of promoting incl’ Car shows, fashion shows, word of mouth, leaflets also self advertising ( wearing a t shirt which company contact info ) as well as having my car carrying signs about the company.
My ideal annual turnover is £248.725 with the wholesale costs, promoting costs, web hosting and printing costs deducted.
How come tax would be taking off?
I would be proposing this idea towards a family member who runs multiple businesses and might be interested in this venture.
also more costs that i need to take into account please let me know ![]()
Why such a rise in ethnic minority McDonald’s employees?
I have been observing in the UK city where i live, a strange phenomenon of McDonald’s restaurants becoming solely staffed by black or indian staff. In this city we do not have an extremely large population of people from ethnic minorities. If i lived in Manchester or London then i could understand it. I stress this was not the case around 7 years ago so something has changed. I am purely curious.
I have come up with 2 possible theories:
1. Black or Indian people franchise a lot of these restaurants and are choosing to employ those like themselves.
2 McDonald’s are now selling Halal meat so therefore those peole who could not previously handle the meat due to religion can now do so and therefore are taking up the opportunity for work.
It is not affecting me……read above…..i am curious.

*The children around around 9 years old, please be as harsh as you want, I can take it*
“What is it?!” she asked, her voice light and airy. It was as though Christmas had come early, was probably one of her thoughts. She had never seen one of those before, and she was interested in discovering new things, especially things that dated back.
“W-well, I don’t know..” her companion whispered. Although their voices were quiet and tinny, they seemed to flow through the air like webs, echoing around them.
“Open it! Open, open, open!” she squealed.
“Well, it could be dangerous…maybe we should get our Rob’s to look first? I don’t know, my Great-granddaddy told me it was called a-a book. Does that sound dangerous to you? Plus, you know we shouldn’t be up here! Oh! My Rob will punish me, so terribly! Quick lets just get out of here!” he cried weakly, his face creasing up with fright. His father owned a Rob company, the biggest and most wealthy franchise out there, and which had just developed a new Rob, designed to be able to discipline children. His Rob had often beat him, with it’s cold metallic hands. He shivered again, a tickle running up his back.
“No! We’re here now! There’s no point in wasting an opportunity! Come on.. Please!” she whined. She was a persistent child and had moaned to her friend for at least two weeks, after he had -now regrettably- told her all about his Great-granddaddy’s story, explaining all about the little white bag with the book inside.
“You are very persistent aren’t you,” he sighed at his friend, who was now eyeing up the bag longingly.
She nodded, her eyes growing wider. She was a daredevil and adventurous, and her friend knew it. If they didn’t uncover the book now, his friend would sneak up later by herself to, and if this book was dangerous, who would save her?
“Come on then, I’ll open it. Although if this book suddenly attacks us- I’ll press for my Rob to come and save us, even if he does punish me after for being up here.”
“Yes!” she squealed.
Thanks

Who thinks Harry Potter should have been realised last year instead of Twilight?
From the MTV website -
"When news broke Thursday that "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was shifting its release date from November until next summer, we wondered: Did the Boy Who Lived move because of "Twilight"?
Maybe not, but guess who’s moving because of "Harry Potter"?
Summit Entertainment announced Friday (August 15) that "Twilight," the first film adaptation to be made from Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster series, has moved its North American release date up three weeks from December 12 to November 21, the weekend previously occupied by "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
"When Warner Bros. decided to move ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film, which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months," Rob Friedman, co-chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment, wrote in a statement. "We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible Potter franchise for 2008, rather we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer’s incredible book series the film as soon possible from a programming perspective."
The move allows for "Twilight" to premiere on more screens than it otherwise would have and to stay in theaters for a longer time prior to the major holiday season, according to the press release. "
